British Spy Agency is Behind Belgacom Attack

NSA whistle-blower Edward Snowden show that the UK Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) is responsible for the attack on Belgacom. Belgian authorities haven’t formally named any suspects. German news publication Der spiegel iron reports that the GCHQ is responsible for the attack. Snowden leaks show that British spy agency was running AN operation known as Operation Socialist. The goal was to get information on Belgacom’s infrastructure and to enable higher exploitation of the company.

Documents show that the intelligence agency has had access to Belgacom International Carrier Services, a venture with South Africa’s MTN and Swisscom since 2010. apparently the GCHQ is alleged to own used spying technology developed by the NSA to carry out the attack.
